Melvin Luther Wilson, a 44-year-old man from St. Paul, Minnesota, went missing on September 15, 1971. On that day, he was scheduled to appear in federal court facing counterfeit charges connected to operations spanning Minnesota and Wisconsin, but he never showed up. Prior to his disappearance, Wilson had been involved in counterfeiting operations and had been under investigation by federal authorities.
