George Patrick Willison, 22 years old at the time, was last seen in Miramar, Florida, on June 1, 1974. He had been traveling by car from South Florida to New York with four other people in April of that year. During the trip, they stopped along a highway in Georgia, and according to three of the travelers, one of the men shot and killed Willison. However, this event was not reported immediately. It was only after Willison was reported missing in June 1974 that the other travelers came forward with this information.
Despite an extensive search of the area where the shooting allegedly took place, Willison's body was never recovered. The individual responsible for the shooting later confessed to the crime and is currently serving a life sentence in Florida for an unrelated murder. However, he was never formally charged in connection with Willison's case. To this day, Willison's remains have not been found, and his case remains open.
Authorities continue to seek information regarding his disappearance, and the Miramar Police Department is handling the investigation.
