William Donald Leach, aged 49, was last seen on March 17, 1976, near his home just south of Laytonville, California. Leach, who also went by the name Frederick Donald Leach, was a mechanic known for his passion for collecting vehicles and motorcycles. At the time of his disappearance, he was involved in a dispute with some individuals, reportedly over his refusal to sell them certain items. Shortly before he went missing, a friend observed Leach limping, and Leach mentioned that he had been beaten.
After his disappearance, investigators found his home ransacked, with dinner left on the table. Several vehicles, including a Ford Falcon and two motorcycles, were missing. Disturbingly, blood stains were discovered on his property, including on a wall and a blood-soaked armchair. His daughter later found unsettling items, such as a photo depicting a goat's head and references to Leach's name, raising further suspicion. Despite the blood and signs of foul play, Leach's body has never been found, and his case remains unsolved. Authorities believe his disappearance to be suspicious.
