Barnum was last seen in Aurora, Colorado on September 19, 1979. She lived in an apartment near the 900 block of south Salem Street. Randal Francis Arnold, who had a record for theft dating back to earlier in the 1970s, had been living with her for about two months prior to her disappearance. Arnold said he believed Barnum went to California with an unidentified male and joined the Hare Krishna cult. She has never been heard from again.
