In the autumn of 1979, a sense of unease settled over a family in Tacoma, Washington, when 37-year-old Thomas Clair Vandermeer vanished. He was last seen on November 23, 1979, in Tacoma. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a white male, standing at 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 130 pounds. He had sandy, collar-length hair and blue eyes.
