Bettina Minnie Antone, also known as "Tina," was last seen in Redding, California, on March 29, 1980. Bettina, 44 at the time of her disappearance, was struggling with alcoholism, depression, and schizophrenia. She had been living at the California Motel in Redding and was undergoing therapy for her mental health conditions. On April 1, 1980, she called a family member to say she was planning a camping trip in the Clear Creek area with two male friends.
She also made a note about going hiking in Lassen Park. However, she left behind her car, clothes, makeup, toothbrush, and even photographs of her children and grandchildren, which raised concerns about her safety.
Despite the possibility that she may have checked into a mental health facility, no trace of her has been found. Family members also discovered money and a note inside one of her shoes at the motel, adding to the mystery of her disappearance. Bettina was described as 5'3", weighing 120 pounds, with black hair, blue eyes, and several distinctive scars, including a mole on her left cheek and dimples on both cheeks. She wore dentures and may have been wearing dangling earrings at the time.
