Benjamin Dobson, 59, was last seen on March 17, 1981, when he left his Lake Worth home in his 1979 BMW. He never returned and has not been heard from since. Dobson, a partner in an insurance agency, was reported missing two days later on March 19, 1981. After his disappearance, his vehicle was found locked and covered in dust at the Wellington Country Plaza Shopping Center, suggesting that the car had been abandoned there for some time.
