Donald Joseph Rohrenbacher, aged 44, disappeared on March 18, 1994, after embarking on a solo hike in the San Gabriel Mountains, located north of Los Angeles County, California. His last known location was in the area around Highway 39 near San Gabriel Canyon. His car was later found abandoned between Pigeon Ridge and Valley of the Moon, but there were no footprints or other clues around the vehicle, likely because two severe storms had hit the area before it was discovered.
