In the spring of 1983, a 19-year-old woman named Linda Louise Jackson vanished from the streets of Seattle, Washington. She was last seen on May 3rd of that year, a young Native American woman with black hair and brown eyes. At five feet six inches tall and weighing around 110 pounds, Linda was a noticeable presence, yet her disappearance went unreported for years. It wasn't until authorities began investigating a series of other crimes that they sought her as a potential witness and discovered that her own family had not had contact with her in over a decade. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are further complicated by the fact that she was known to use several aliases, including Wylynda Latasha Wells. The lack of an initial missing person report created a significant challenge for investigators trying to piece together the timeline of Linda's last known movements. The information available about her life is scarce, which is not uncommon for cases from that era before the widespread use of digital communication. Tragically, it is believed that Linda was involved in sex work at the time she went missing, a factor that likely contributed to the delayed discovery of her absence and may have made her more vulnerable to foul play. This aspect of her life is what led police to believe she might have had information about another, more notorious series of crimes happening in the area. The investigation into Linda's disappearance has led to the heartbreaking suspicion that she may have been a victim of a serial killer. Specifically, her case has been linked to the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway, who was active in the Seattle area during that time and was known to target sex workers. While Ridgway confessed to numerous murders, Linda's case was never officially included in his confessions, and her body has never been found. An investigator on the Green River case has stated his belief that Ridgway is responsible for Linda's disappearance. Decades later, Linda Louise Jackson's case remains unsolved, a poignant and somber mystery. Her family and community are left without answers, holding onto the memory of the young woman who disappeared so long ago.
