Nancy Ann Penner, 29, was last seen on October 31, 1983, in Paradise, California, where she lived with her boyfriend, Jeff Jeffries, and her two children. On Halloween, Nancy was invited by a friend to celebrate but never arrived. Her brother tried contacting her weeks later for Thanksgiving but was unable to reach her. It wasn’t until December 19, 1983, that a missing persons report was filed.
Nancy’s boyfriend, Jeff, claimed that he came home one day and found blood in the house, but Nancy was gone. Investigators later discovered a bullet lodged in a bathroom cabinet, supporting suspicions of foul play. Despite this evidence, her case remained cold. Jeff later moved to Hawaii with the children and died by suicide in 1986. Nancy’s son, Omar, later recalled witnessing a traumatic event involving Jeff and his mother, which further fueled suspicions that Nancy may have been murdered.
Despite these leads, Nancy’s body has never been found, and authorities continue to investigate her case, considering the possibility that her remains might be located in a remote area or a mine shaft in Butte County.
