Elias Junior Monroy, a two-week-old infant, was abducted on February 2, 1987, from the LA-USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. His mother, Maria Pacheco, had taken him for a routine checkup when an unidentified woman struck up a conversation in the clinic's waiting room. As Elias began to cry, the woman offered to hold him while Maria went to get baby formula. Upon Maria's return, both the woman and her newborn son were gone.
