Eva Mae Hale, a 79-year-old woman from Terre Haute, Indiana, went missing on October 15, 1996, after visiting her brother's grave at the Marco Cemetery in Greene County. Hale had driven her white 1983 Chrysler New Yorker to the cemetery, where she intended to place a pumpkin on her brother's grave. Her car was later found abandoned at the cemetery, with her purse and money locked inside and a spare set of keys lying on the ground nearby.
