On a warm Independence Day in 1997, 40-year-old Glenda Jean Petersen was enjoying a holiday celebration at Lake Thunderbird in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Nicknamed "Blondie" and "Sunshine," Glenda was a mother of four with distinctive tattoos of the letter "G" on her left forearm and "B" on her left hand. She had recently broken her right leg and was wearing a cast. As the festivities wound down, Glenda made a decision that would forever alter the course of her life and leave her family searching for answers. She handed her purse and boots to her youngest daughter and accepted a ride from a man she had just met. Glenda was last seen leaving the celebration with an unidentified man. He was described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, standing about six feet tall and weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and a mustache. They drove off in his vehicle, a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck, estimated to be a 1990 or 1991 model. The truck was last spotted on Highway 9. After that moment, Glenda Jean Petersen was never seen or heard from again. Her sudden and complete disappearance left her children and loved ones in a state of perpetual uncertainty and distress. The Norman Police Department is investigating her disappearance, but very little information has surfaced over the years. Glenda had several distinguishing features, including long, bleached-blonde hair, a scar on her neck, and an artificial jaw. The circumstances surrounding her decision to leave with a stranger remain unknown, and with no further leads, her case has grown cold. The man and his dark-colored pickup truck seemingly vanished along with her, leaving behind a family desperate for any information that could bring them closure. Her case remains an active and unsolved missing persons investigation.
