His work van remained in the parking lot with his lunchbox still inside.

His brother, Joshua Harkess, has spoken out about his brother's meticulous and routine-oriented nature, emphasizing that it would be completely out of character for him to abandon his family. The family believes he may have experienced a sudden medical event, such as memory loss, that caused him to become disoriented. They have organized search efforts and a GoFundMe page to support his wife and children during this difficult time.
