Howard Comis, a 59-year-old man from New York City, went missing on October 7, 2011. On the night he disappeared, Comis left his apartment and his pit bull in the care of a neighbor, telling them he would be going to Harlem for four days. However, he never returned to pick up his dog or respond to any messages from the neighbor. The dog was eventually given to the ASPCA when it became clear that Comis wasn’t coming back.
