Ian Burnet, a 22-year-old engineering student from Richmond, Virginia, was last seen on December 30, 2011, in New York City. He had traveled to the city on December 26 to stay with friends in an apartment near 139th Street and Riverside Drive in Manhattan. Burnet was an accomplished student, attending Virginia Commonwealth University on a full scholarship and was known for being independent and responsible.
