Joseph Paul Cordova, age 33, was last seen on May 1, 2012, in San Jose, California. Early that morning, he informed his family that he was going out for a walk, but he never returned. Cordova, who is of Filipino descent, was described as a heavyset man, standing about 5'4" tall and weighing 260 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown suede jacket, a teal t-shirt, black basketball shorts, and brown shoes.
Cordova suffers from both diabetes and schizophrenia and did not have his medications with him at the time of his disappearance. Without his medication, he was at risk of hallucinations and hearing voices. While he had been stable on his medication for years, his mental health history includes wandering off, and he had previously gone missing but was found by police in Tracy, California, after several hours.
