Dennis Shepherd, 46, went missing on May 18, 2012, in Brentwood, New York, under troubling circumstances. At the time, he was being transported from Stony Brook University Medical Center to Pilgrim Psychiatric Center. Dennis, who had been involuntarily committed due to mental health issues including schizophrenia and paranoid delusions, escaped from the vehicle when it arrived at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center. After fleeing into the nearby woods, he has not been seen or heard from since.
