In the early summer of 2012, a 14-year-old girl named Brittany Robinson was filled with excitement at the prospect of spending a rare weekend with her estranged father in Mobile, Alabama. On June 14, her aunt dropped her off at her father's, Demetric L. Hooper's, home on McCovery Road for what was supposed to be a simple two-day visit.
