Eryk Krystyphyr Richards, a 32-year-old man from Louisiana, was last seen on September 10, 2012. The day before, he had informed a friend that he planned to go kayaking in the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of Grand Isle. On the day of his disappearance, around 1:00 p.m., a fisherman spotted Richards in his kayak and offered assistance, but Richards declined, saying he did not need help.
