On a winter day, December 7, 1958, 48-year-old Barbara Martin, her husband Kenneth, and their three daughters, Barbara Virginia, and Susan, left their home in Portland, Oregon. The family was reportedly heading to the Columbia River Gorge to gather greenery for Christmas decorations. Barbara was believed to be wearing a navy blue coat, a plaid jacket, a black print dress, and black medium-heeled shoes.
