Barbara Martin, age 48, disappeared along with her husband, Kenneth, and their three daughters, Barbie, Virginia, and Susan, on December 7, 1958. The family set out from their Portland, Oregon, home to collect Christmas greenery in the Columbia River Gorge. After stopping to refuel and being seen leaving a restaurant in Hood River, the family vanished. Their home was left as if they intended to return soon, with dishes drying in the sink and laundry in progress.
