Mark Steven Scott, a 17-year-old from Houston, Texas, went missing on April 20, 1972. He left his home that day to spend time with friends but never returned. Shortly after his disappearance, Mark’s family received a postcard, supposedly from him, stating that he had found a job in Austin and would return home after saving enough money. This was later revealed to be part of a cruel deception.
Mark tragically became one of the known victims of serial killer Dean Corll, also infamously known as "The Candy Man." Corll, aided by accomplices Elmer Wayne Henley Jr. and David Owen Brooks, lured teenage boys to Corll's home under false pretenses, where they were subsequently tortured and murdered. Mark was killed on April 21, 1972, at Corll's residence after being lured there by Henley. Henley later admitted to his involvement and described the horrific details of Mark's death.
Although authorities initially believed they had found Mark's remains in a mass grave where many of Corll’s victims were buried, DNA testing in 2011 revealed that the remains belonged to another victim, Steven Kent Sickman. Despite extensive searches, Mark's body has never been recovered, and he is presumed dead. His remains are believed to be buried at High Island Beach, a location that has since been submerged due to environmental changes.Last Seen: Apr 20, 1972
