Jeffrey Lee Stinnett, a 21-year-old man from Ann Arbor, Michigan, was last seen on January 11, 1978. His disappearance was not reported until months later, on April 19, 1978, when a housemate contacted authorities after noticing that Stinnett had been missing for about seven days. Prior to his disappearance, Stinnett had left his job and was showing signs of unusual behavior.
