In the winter of 1989, a 33-year-old man named Glenn Eugene Thompson vanished from Quincy, Washington, leaving behind a few scattered belongings and a mystery that has endured for decades. Thompson was last seen on December 28, 1989, just two days after being discharged from the American Lake VA Hospital in Tacoma, where he had been receiving care. After his release, he took up residence at The Quincy Inn, and it was from there that he was last seen leaving on foot, never to be seen again. The circumstances surrounding his departure are unclear, and what happened to him after he walked away from the inn remains unknown. The few clues that were found only deepened the mystery of his disappearance. Some of his clothing and his crutches were discovered approximately 10 miles west of Quincy, near the shoreline of the Columbia River. The discovery of these personal items so far from where he was last seen raised numerous questions. How did his belongings end up by the river, and why were they abandoned? No other trace of Thompson has ever been found, and the path he took after leaving the inn is a complete blank. The investigation into Glenn Thompson's disappearance has yielded no definitive answers, and his case remains an unsolved missing person file. Authorities have suggested that Thompson may have been dealing with mental health challenges at the time he went missing. Over the years, his family, including his daughter, has continued their search for answers, holding out hope for a resolution to his case. The Quincy Police Department has the case file, and anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Glenn Eugene Thompson or the circumstances of his disappearance is encouraged to contact them. The case serves as a somber reminder of the many individuals who disappear each year, leaving behind grieving families and unanswered questions.
