Thomas Lammon, age 34, disappeared on July 18, 1992, while piloting a single-engine Cessna 172. The flight, carrying two couples, including his wife Peggy Sue Lammon and their friends Raymond and Catherine Sears, was en route from Battle Creek, Michigan, to Beaver Island in northern Lake Michigan. The plane vanished from radar around noon, approximately 35 miles from Beaver Island, near the Leelanau Peninsula, as it descended toward the island’s airstrip.
