Andrea Nicole Boyette, a 26-year-old woman from Lakeland, Florida, was last seen on December 23, 1994. Her disappearance raised serious concerns, particularly due to troubling circumstances surrounding her marriage to John Boyette, her husband of just three months. On the day she went missing, Andrea appeared distraught and expressed concerns about her troubled relationship.
That evening, John claimed they visited several bars before returning home, where he alleged that she disappeared while he was in the bathroom. However, Andrea's children, who were present that evening, contradicted this account, stating that she never returned home.
Suspicion quickly turned to John Boyette, especially after he pawned Andrea’s jewelry and abandoned her children shortly after her disappearance. In 2004, her son Dustin, who was nine years old at the time, told authorities that he had witnessed his stepfather choking his mother on the night she vanished. Later, John’s brother confessed to assisting in the disposal of Andrea’s body, claiming they had dumped her remains in a lake at a phosphate mine where John worked. The lake has since been filled in, making it highly unlikely that her remains will ever be recovered.
John Boyette was eventually indicted for Andrea's murder in 2004, but he accepted a plea deal for manslaughter and was sentenced to eight years in prison. He was released on parole in 2009.
