Robin Michelle Smith, 28, was last seen on September 2, 1998, after finishing her shift at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi. That night, at around 11:26 p.m., Robin called her mother from the hospital parking lot to check on her children. She then got into her black 1997 Mitsubishi Gallant, intending to stop by the Sav-A-Center grocery store before heading home to Pass Christian. However, there is no indication that she made it to the store, and she never arrived home.

On October 29, 1998, nearly two months after her disappearance, Robin's car was found backed into a parking space at Southern Pines Apartments in Gulfport. No one in the area had seen or heard of her, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Robin was a devoted mother to two young children and had recently ended a relationship with Tim Bryant, the father of her children. While Bryant has been considered a person of interest, there has not been enough evidence to implicate anyone in her disappearance. Authorities believe foul play is involved, and the case is classified as a possible homicide.
