Prior to her disappearance, she had been involved in a toxic relationship with a professional football player from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tina had been physically abused by her boyfriend, which resulted in significant injuries, including a ruptured breast implant. Despite her family's pleas, she refused medical treatment or to report the abuse to the authorities.
