Florin Ghita, a 21-year-old Romanian national, disappeared in August 2001 under mysterious circumstances. In 1998, Florin left Romania to continue his education in Luxembourg, where he lived with his father. In 2001, he applied for a tourist visa to visit the United States and arrived in New York on July 3, 2001. About a month later, Florin contacted his father from Orlando, Florida, claiming he had been robbed of his luggage and money. He provided the address of a Salvation Army shelter in Orla ...
