At the time of her disappearance, Martinez was working as a beautician, and her coworkers recalled that during her last shift, she appeared unusually nervous, with her hands shaking so badly that she struggled to perform certain tasks.
Three days after her disappearance, on April 15, Martinez's white 1991 Cadillac Eldorado was found abandoned near the Soup Plantation restaurant at the Puente Hills Mall in the City of Industry. No trace of Martinez was found near the vehicle, and her sudden disappearance has raised suspicions.
