Jesus Alvarado Martinez, a 4-year-old boy, went missing from Houston, Texas, on October 20, 2004. At the time of his disappearance, Jesus was living with his mother, Rocio Alvarado, and his younger sister. The family had been facing domestic issues, and Rocio was estranged from her husband, Avelino Martinez. On the day of the disappearance, Avelino took Jesus and his sister to a doctor's appointment, but later that day, Rocio's relatives grew concerned when they could not contact her.
Tragically, Rocio was found deceased in Avelino's apartment on October 21, 2004. She had been stabbed and strangled. Jesus and Avelino were missing, leading authorities to issue a warrant for Avelino's arrest, suspecting him of both Rocio's murder and Jesus's abduction. Avelino's vehicle was later found abandoned, and authorities believe that Avelino fled to Mexico, possibly to Nuevo Laredo, with Jesus. Due to the circumstances surrounding his abduction, Jesus is considered to be in danger, and efforts to locate him have continued over the years.
