Gregg Lee Ginsberg, a 55-year-old resident of St. James City, Florida, was last seen on the evening of September 19, 2005. Ginsberg set out from his home near Sanibel Island, reportedly heading into the Gulf of Mexico on his boat just as Hurricane Rita was approaching the area. His disappearance raised immediate concerns due to the severe weather conditions at the time. He has not been seen or heard from since that evening.
