Gabrielle Nicole Dahm, a 1-year-old child, was last seen on August 2, 2010, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her disappearance is classified as a family abduction, as she was taken by her non-custodial mother, Leslie Sheila Delbecq, following a court-ordered visitation. Gabrielle’s parents had finalized their divorce just two months prior, with an agreement that neither parent was permitted to take Gabrielle out of the country without consent.
However, Delbecq fled the country with Gabrielle, using one-way tickets to the United Arab Emirates, traveling via Brussels, Belgium, where Delbecq holds dual citizenship.
Gabrielle's father, Christopher Dahm, soon learned of the abduction when his ex-wife did not return Gabrielle after a scheduled visit. Investigations revealed that Delbecq had managed to obtain a Belgian passport for Gabrielle without her father’s knowledge, allowing her to take their daughter abroad. It is believed that Delbecq, along with her parents, Jeanine De Riddere and Philippe Delbecq, orchestrated the abduction. They are suspected of residing in Abu Dhabi, where Philippe worked as a chief training pilot for an airline.
In 2011, federal warrants were issued for Leslie Delbecq and her mother, Jeanine, for international parental kidnapping. Although Gabrielle’s father was granted full custody in the U.S., efforts to return her have been unsuccessful. The case remains unresolved, and authorities continue to search for any information that could lead to Gabrielle’s safe return.
