Deny Alcantara Cordero, aged 26, was last seen on January 3, 2012, in Hidalgo, Texas. At the time of his disappearance, Deny had been communicating with his family, informing them that he was in Reynosa, Mexico, and waiting for a "coyote" (a smuggler or guide) to help him cross into the United States. The last contact occurred between March 23 and 25, when Deny told his family that he was okay and awaiting further instructions from the guide.
