The days following Devron's disappearance turned into weeks, and then months, with no sign of the young boy. The investigation led authorities to believe that Yaling Chang may have fled with her son to Taipei, Taiwan. This international element added a complex layer to the search efforts. In January of the following year, a felony warrant for kidnapping was issued for Yaling Chang, officially marking her as a fugitive from the law. Yaling was 39 years old at the time and is described as being of Asian descent with black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on her ankle. She may also wear glasses. Years have passed since Devron Morrison was last seen, and his case remains an open wound for his family and the community he was taken from. The initial investigation, led by the Battle Creek Police Department, has been joined by national organizations in the hope of generating new leads.
