Christopher Burras, a 59-year-old travel executive from West Palm Beach, Florida, was last seen on October 22, 2012. He had flown from Miami to Rome with his girlfriend on October 8, 2012, for an Eastern Mediterranean cruise. After the cruise ended in Rome on October 21, Burras was supposed to return to Miami with his girlfriend the following day. However, he decided to stay in Italy to meet two business associates in Milan, whom he described as both clients and friends.
His girlfriend returned to the U.S. alone on October 22, stating that Burras was taking a train to Milan to meet the couple.
Since that day, Burras has not been seen or heard from. Disturbingly, activity from his cell phone was later detected in Cambodia and Thailand on October 27 and 28, 2012. His family was deeply concerned, as they could not find any reason for him to be in those countries. Burras was the president of a travel agency, and his sudden disappearance remains a mystery.
