On the evening of November 14, 2012, 56-year-old Wilbur "Willy" Pate completed his shift at the Walmart in Owensboro, Kentucky, and made the familiar drive back to his residence in Evansville, Indiana. He was seen at his home on Charmwood Court around 11:00 p.m. that night. According to his roommate, Pate gathered his belongings and left the residence in his blue 2004 Ford Escape.
