Ilya Lomov, a 42-year-old man from Livermore, California, went missing on January 2, 2013, while camping in the Kalalau Valley on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Lomov, an avid outdoorsman, had arrived in Kauai for a vacation on December 24, 2012. He had a camping permit for various campsites along the island’s North Shore, valid from December 29, 2012, to January 3, 2013. He last spoke to his wife on December 27 before embarking on his camping trip.
