Jessi had struggled with addiction to opiates and crack cocaine, a battle she had fought for years, going through rehabilitation programs multiple times but relapsing each time. Her lifestyle, which included occasional prostitution to support her drug habit, put her at risk, and her disappearance raised immediate concern.
