Robert Ransom Williams, age 33, was one of five people aboard a private jet that disappeared on January 27, 1971, after taking off from Burlington, Vermont. The aircraft, a Jet Commander, was bound for Providence, Rhode Island, but lost contact with air traffic controllers shortly after takeoff in severe weather conditions.
