Margie Lee Phillips, a 31-year-old mother of four, disappeared on April 22, 1976, in Fort Myers, Florida. On the day of her disappearance, Margie and her boyfriend, Willie Lee Battles, went to the First Federal Savings and Loan Office, where she intended to withdraw money for a new car. According to Battles, he fell asleep in the car and awoke to find that Margie was missing and the bank had closed for the day.
