Carla Roberson, a 19-year-old from Montgomery, Alabama, disappeared on May 10, 1984, while visiting family in Pensacola, Florida. On that day, Carla left her aunt's house to spend the afternoon reading and sunbathing at Fort Pickens, a popular beach on the Gulf Islands National Seashore, located on Santa Rosa Island. She promised to return by the early evening, but she never came back.
