Bobby Dale Allen, a 23-year-old Navy sailor, went missing on August 15, 1986, after visiting family in Adelanto, California. Allen was assigned to the U.S.S. William H. Bates, a nuclear submarine based in San Diego, and was last seen leaving his sister's residence to return to his base. However, he never arrived. His car, a 1985 Ford Mustang, was later found abandoned with the keys inside on North Harbor Boulevard in San Diego.
