On a spring evening in 1987, Sarah W. Boyd, a 32-year-old administrative assistant, attended a gospel concert in Walterboro, South Carolina, with her two-year-old daughter, Kimberly, and a friend, Linda McCord. After the concert on April 3rd, the three were en route to their homes in Orangeburg County, traveling through Dorchester County.
