Frances Brewster, aged 75, was last seen in October 1999 in Sunriver, Oregon. At the time of her disappearance, she was living with her adult son, John Shipman, after moving out of a retirement center in Bend. Shipman claimed that Brewster had left to travel with Walter Cierley, her brother-in-law, who had gone missing a year earlier in 1998. However, after Brewster’s family had not heard from her for an extended period, they reported her missing in May 2000.
