Later that day, her tan 2001 Mazda MPV minivan was found abandoned along Highway 1, near a cliff by one of her favorite coastal spots. Personal belongings, including a chair, blanket, book, and her bright pink sun hat, were found nearby, suggesting she may have been relaxing at the beach. Despite thorough searches, no trace of her was found, though a search dog tracked her scent to the edge of a cliff. This led to speculation that she might have fallen or taken her own life, though she had no known history of mental health issues.
