Lisa Lee Chandler, 44, went missing from her home in Wolfe City, Texas, on September 23, 2007. That afternoon, she was last seen at her residence in the 5500 block of Highway 34 North. Her family became concerned when they were unable to reach her by phone, prompting them to visit her home. Upon arrival, they found her house unlocked, with windows open, and her personal items, such as her purse and cigarettes, left behind.
Her vehicle was still at the property, and her dog was found loose in the yard.
Authorities quickly launched an investigation and brought in bloodhounds to track Lisa's scent. The dogs were able to follow her trail for about five miles south along the highway before it abruptly ended, suggesting she may have been picked up by a passing motorist. Despite efforts to search the area and follow leads, Lisa has never been located.
At the time of her disappearance, Lisa was battling mental health issues, including schizophrenia, for which she was taking medication. There is some speculation that drug-related activities involving people she knew could have played a role, but this has not been confirmed.
