Vernon Cuthbert Quarles II was last seen on July 31, 2008, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. At the time of his disappearance, Quarles was 24 years old, standing between 5'11" and 6'2" and weighing approximately 140-150 pounds. He was living between Lancaster and Baltimore, Maryland, and had a history of schizophrenia. His condition classified him as disabled, and he was receiving Social Security disability benefits, which stopped in 2010. Quarles was also without medical coverage by 2009.
