Kelly Moriarty, a 38-year-old woman from Bradenton, Florida, was last seen on December 16, 2011, along with her girlfriend, Doris "Pat" Carter, at Carter's home in Plant City. The next day, both women, along with Kelly's car, were missing. Days later, on December 27, a severed leg was found washed ashore on a beach in St. Petersburg, which was later confirmed through DNA testing to belong to Kelly.
