On February 21, 2012, 10-year-old Edhem Abuhamda, along with his siblings Jannah and Jehad, was allegedly abducted by their father, Ahmed Abuhamda, from Overland Park, Kansas. The children’s mother reported the abduction after their father failed to return them following a visit. A federal warrant for Ahmed's arrest was issued on April 26, 2012, charging him with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
